Although we have never met them, we've been benefiting a lot from their efforts. Yesterday, the soldiers of Chinese People's Volunteer Army, who are described as the most lovely people in the textbook of middle school, were sent back to China. In the falling snow, we welcomed our heroes home with the utmost decorum at Shenyang Taoxian International Airport. It's been a long way for them starting from 73 years ago. Back then, People's Republic of China was just founded, poor and underdeveloped. We had no planes or cannons, but only rifles. To decide whether to attend the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Chairman Mao couldn't sleep for several days. Eventually, China decided to fight against the American Empire. At that time, in thin clothes and a lack of supplies, Chinese People's Volunteer Army took trains across the Yalu River and fought this battle against the American Empire that gained international status for China. Finally, we won the victory of the war. It was from then that the American Empire started to take a new look at China and fear us from the bottom of their hearts. We won our dignity from this war. 141,000 of our Volunteer Army were killed in the war. It is at the cost of these 141,000 soldiers' blood and lives that all of our Chinese people live such a happy life today. It was a war that won international status for China. Every year when the heroes are sent back to our motherland, every Chinese should commemorate them deeply. I'm afraid that my words are so heavy that they will disturb the spirits of the martyrs; but with only superficial descriptions, it won't be enough to portray their earthshaking legends. History books are too thin to chronicle all their greatness. But a random page may record their entire lives. Although we have never met them, we've been benefiting a lot from their efforts.
