11月15日下午，我們抵達(dá)湘雅醫(yī)院，漫步在始建于1915年的古老紅樓前，心中百感交集?！叭绻矣星l生命，必定每一條都要留給中國?！边@是湘雅醫(yī)學(xué)院創(chuàng)始人顏福慶對祖國的誓言。他是全亞洲第一位獲得耶魯醫(yī)學(xué)博士學(xué)位的人，曾拒絕美國的高薪邀請，毅然決然地回到戰(zhàn)火紛飛的祖國，創(chuàng)立了湘雅醫(yī)學(xué)院。百余年來，這里培養(yǎng)了中國無數(shù)卓越的醫(yī)學(xué)人才，他們撐起了中國醫(yī)學(xué)事業(yè)的半壁江山。紅樓前辦公樓的石刻上，鐫刻著孫中山先生題寫的“學(xué)成致用”，而老紅樓內(nèi)則留有毛主席題寫的“救死扶傷”。湘雅醫(yī)院的另一位創(chuàng)始人Hume教授曾表示：“我希望在這片東方土地上奠定現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)實(shí)踐和醫(yī)學(xué)教育的基石?！边@座紅樓由美國著名建筑師墨菲設(shè)計(jì)，建于1915年，擁有300個(gè)房間和180張床位，其古樸高雅的風(fēng)格至今仍令人嘆為觀止。歷任院長皆為國為民，懷揣高尚情懷，以實(shí)際行動(dòng)踐行了為人民健康服務(wù)的精神。這種精神和信仰，至今仍令每一位中國人深感敬佩。Hume教授在其自傳《道一風(fēng)同》中寫道：“真正無所畏懼的人們一定會(huì)相逢，因?yàn)樗麄兙裣嘟?，勇氣和頑強(qiáng)相似。”湘雅醫(yī)院正是這種信念的傳承者。百年湘雅的精神是中國現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)的縮影，也應(yīng)讓國際醫(yī)學(xué)界了解到中國醫(yī)院的精神內(nèi)核。如今，國家富強(qiáng)了，但當(dāng)年的信念與精神卻更顯珍貴。在那個(gè)戰(zhàn)火紛飛、內(nèi)外交困的年代，是這些先賢創(chuàng)造了現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)的傳奇故事，真正踐行了“救死扶傷，一切為了人民健康”的理念。今年恰逢中南大學(xué)湘雅醫(yī)學(xué)院辦學(xué)110周年。應(yīng)中南大學(xué)湘雅醫(yī)院黨委書記張欣教授邀請，德國亞琛工業(yè)大學(xué)附屬醫(yī)院麻醉科副主任、外科重癥監(jiān)護(hù)與中期照護(hù)科主任，英國皇家麻醉師學(xué)院院士Marx教授，慕尼黑大學(xué)附屬醫(yī)院手外科、整形外科與美容外科主任、歐洲整形外科、重建外科與美容外科學(xué)會(huì)主席Giunta教授，哥廷根大學(xué)醫(yī)療中心神經(jīng)內(nèi)科主任、德國國家科學(xué)院院士B?hr教授一行來到湘雅醫(yī)院，參與了閉門會(huì)議。會(huì)議結(jié)束后，專家團(tuán)分別訪問了湘雅醫(yī)院的麻醉科、神經(jīng)內(nèi)科和手外科與顯微外科，與相關(guān)團(tuán)隊(duì)進(jìn)行了深入交流。同時(shí)，專家團(tuán)一行還實(shí)地參觀了紅樓銅像廣場和歷史文化長廊，對承載百年歷史的紅樓贊嘆不已，深受感動(dòng)。湘雅醫(yī)院的百年歷史，不僅書寫了中國現(xiàn)代醫(yī)學(xué)的傳奇，也昭示著代代湘雅人所堅(jiān)守的醫(yī)者信仰與為民情懷。這份精神力量，必將繼續(xù)激勵(lì)著中國醫(yī)學(xué)的未來發(fā)展。

On the afternoon of November 15, we arrived at Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and strolled in front of the ancient Red Building, established in 1915, feeling a surge of emotions.“If I had a thousand lives, I would dedicate every one of them to China.”This was the oath by Prof. YAN Fuqing, the founder of Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University, to his motherland.As the first Asian to receive a doctorate in medicine at Yale University,Prof. Yan declined high-paying offers in the United States,and decisively returned to his war-torn homeland to establish Xiangya School of Medicine.For over a century, Xiangya School of Medicine has nurtured countless excellent medical professionals in China,who have become the backbones of China's medical advancements.On the rock of the office building in front of the Red Building is engraved with the inscription “Learn and apply,” written by Sun Yat-sen.Inside the Red Building, there remains the inscription “Heal the wounded and save the dying,” written by Chairman MAO Zedong.The other founder of Xiangya Hospital, Prof. Hume, once said: “I hope to lay the cornerstone of modern medical practice and education on this Eastern land.”Designed by the renowned American architect Henry Killam Murphy and completed in 1915, the Red Building, with 300 rooms and 180 beds, remains awe-inspiring for its elegant simplicity.Every president of Xiangya Hospital has served the nation and the people with noble ideals,translating their commitment to the health of the people into concrete actions.This spirit and belief continue to earn the deep respect of every Chinese person to this day.In his autobiography Doctors East, Doctors West, Prof. Hume wrote: “True fearless individuals are destined to meet, as their spirits resonate, and their courage and tenacity align.”Xiangya Hospital is a true embodiment of this belief.The spirit of Xiangya Hospital, spanning a century, is a microcosm of modern Chinese medicine,and should be known by the international medical community so that they would understand the spiritual core of Chinese hospitals.Today, as China has grown prosperous, the beliefs and spirits of those years have become even more precious.In that era of war and turmoil, it was these pioneers who created the legendary stories of modern medicine,truly embodying the principle of “Healing the wounded, saving the dying, and dedicating everything to the health of the people.”This year marks the 110th anniversary of Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University.Invited by Prof. ZHANG Xin, the Party Secretary of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University,Prof. Marx, Deputy Director of Anesthesiology, Head of Surgical Intensive Care Medicine and Intermediate Care at University Hospital RWTH Aachen and a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists,Prof. Giunta, Director of Hand, Plastic, and Aesthetic Surgery at University Hospital of Munich and President of the European Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (ESPRAS),and Prof. B?hr, Director of Neurology at University Medical Center G?ttingen and Fellow of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, visited Xiangya Hospital for an internal meeting.After the meeting, the German experts visited the Departments of Anesthesiology, Neurology, and Hand Surgery and Microsurgery respectively, engaging in in-depth discussions with the corresponding team.The German experts also toured the Red Building Statue Square and the Historical Cultural Corridor in the hospital,expressing their appreciation and touches to the Red Building bearing witness to the century-long history of Xiangya Hospital.The centennial development of Xiangya Hospital has not only become a legend of modern Chinese medicine,but also reflected the faith in medical career and caring for people upheld by generations of Xiangya medical professionals.This spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire the future development of China's healthcare.
